FAQs About Colombia Digital Nomad Visa
What are the Colombia Digital Nomad Visa processing costs?
Expect a US$50 for the application fee, US$200 for visa issuance (varies by nationality), and US$50 for your cédula. To handle Colombian bureaucracy and the immigration process, the Freedom Files also has professional fees for full support.

You’ll only become a Colombia tax resident and be liable for taxes on your worldwide income if you stay more than 183 days in a 365-day period. Unfortunately, the Colombia Digital Nomad Visa does not offer any tax exemptions as other remote work visas may (like Costa Rica’s).Â
How Long Does Colombia Digital Nomad Visa Processing Take?
If all documents are correct, approval can take as little as 2-4 weeks. However, the bulk of the timeline is in gathering your documents and criminal record in the country of your residence. Delays are common if paperwork is missing or needs extra translation.
Can I Bring My Spouse or Children to Colombia on the Colombia Digital Nomad Visa?
Yes, you can include dependents. Each person needs their own paperwork, but one main applicant’s income may cover all. Dependents require additional legal and processing fees as well.
