Here’s why I started the Freedom Files.
I had already done this work on my own life before the firm existed. I left the US a decade ago. After visiting more than 30 countries and living temporarily in more than 15, I got residency in several. I married outside my culture and outside my country of birth. And I’ve deployed capital into investment migration programs that most American high earners have never even heard of. My effective tax rate now lives in the single digits.
I don’t list any of that to impress you. You’re likely far more accomplished than I am, in fact. I do so because most people giving Americans advice on this stuff have never lived outside the country. They haven’t invested in another country. Frankly, they don’t walk the talk.
The only reason I’m qualified to talk to you about your situation is that I’ve already done it with mine.
